They constantly connect, disconnect, play audio from the input mic, just a living nightmare. I'm on the edge of returning them. I see there's a firmware update available, but I'm having trouble. I downloaded the Bose updater app. I've connected my headphones via USB and try to run the Bose updater app, but nothing seems to happen. The app doesn't seem to be open or running anywhere. I've tried uninstalling it, but I get a message saying it's open and running.
But it isn't even listed in the list of running apps when I hit Command + Option + Esc. This happens even after I restart, with headphones unplugged.
With the Bose Connect app on a smartphone, this should all be super-easy. Make sure the QC35 are powered on an connected to your phone via Bluetooth. Start Bose Connect app. It should recognize headphones.
To see the current firmware version, tap the gear icon in the top right and then tap 'Product Details' in the list. The Bose Connect app should detect if a new firmware version is available and start downloading it automatically. It will prompt you to apply it to the QC35 when it has finished downloading. Note: I'm am describing the iOS Bose Connect app. I have no idea if the Android one works the same.
